Info: Must try out, meet LHSAA grade requirements, have a clean discipline record, must be at all games and practices - we practice/play during Thanksgiving Break, Christmas Break, and Mardi Gras Break.

In girls' basketball, we believe in the teamwork and strong work ethic. We work hard to continuously improve, while having fun. We have a great group of young ladies who are exceptional role models on the basketball court, in the classroom, and in life.

We practice every day during the school year and once-twice a week during the summer. We attend camp in June. We cheer at all varsity football games and most home varsity girls’ and boys’ basketball games. We also participate in community service events throughout the year.

Info: Minimum 1.5 GPA with no more than 1 failing grade from the previous semester. Have not exceeded all four years of eligibility. Must remain in good standing with the school with no behavioral infractions or poor grades.
*Note: Any student who has an F in any class the day of a tournament will be marked as ineligible from all team activities until that grade goes up.

The Slidell High Golf Team is a competitive team sport that plays against schools across the state under the guidelines set by the Louisiana High School Athletic Association (LHSAA). The school fields both a boys’ and girls’ team, with practices and tournaments scheduled at local courses in the Spring Semester. Practice every day at 7th hr. and after school during the Spring Semester.

Highly competitive Varsity Tennis. Tennis is a year around sport with the competitive season running from January 1st through April 30th. Athletes must provide their own racquets, bag, and other personal items. The team will play 10-12 matches per season with a post season Regional and State Championship Tournament. Most players take regular private or group lessons with local tennis pros at their own expense. Beginning players are accepted they but are expected to begin professional lessons in addition to the regularly scheduled team practices. Based on each player’s ability, outside tournaments are available and highly encouraged to develop match experience and elevate United States Tennis Association (USTA) rankings. Practices are held at the Slidell High School (on campus) tennis complex.

Swingerettes Dance Team

Info: Tryouts are held in March. Applications must have a clean discipline record and a 2.0 GPA.

The Slidell High Swingerettes Dance Team is a year-round sport. They perform at all Pep-Rallies, Football games, Basketball and parades in Slidell. Each year the team competes at competition for Dance Team Union for Regionals and Nationals. Practice is every day during 7th hour and after school until 4pm Tuesday-Thursday.

Outdoor Track and Field is comprised of running, throwing and jumping events. From short sprints to the 2 mile run to throws and jumps, Track and Field has an event for everyone! Practices will be Monday-Friday 2:45-5:00.
