Specialty Music

Guitar Class (6610 S –1st semester only)

This is a one semester class offered first semester. Open to beginning students only. Purchase of an acceptable guitar and specified book are required.

Jazz Ensemble (6462 B) -- 2nd Semester only

This course is designed to teach students jazz music by its actual performance and to acquaint the students with Jazz Music Theory and History. This course is open to students by audition only. Students not enrolled in Advanced Band must have permission of the instructor to schedule this class. Jazz Band is a co-curricular course, both academic and extra-curricular. This means that part of the requirement for successfully completing the course will involve after school rehearsals and performances throughout the year.

Piano Class (6590 S)

This course is open to any student with no previous keyboard/piano experience. The course introduces students to the piano. Students study beginning melodies, chord structures, key signatures and beginning music theory.
