Graduation Requirements
(For the classes of 2009 through 2011)
English- 4 units
English I, II, III in consecutive order, and English IV or Business English
Mathematics- 3 units*
Units Effective for incoming freshmen 2005-2006 and beyond: All students must complete one of the following: Algebra I (1 unit) or Algebra I-Part 1 and Algebra I-Part 2 (2 units). The remaining unit(s) willl come from the following: Geometry, Algebra II, Financial Mathematics, Advanced Mathematics I, Calculus Effective for incoming freshmen 1997-98 through 2004-2005: Shall be selected from the following courses and may include a maximum of 2 entry level courses (designated by E): Algebra I (E), Algebra I-Part 1 (E), Algebra I-Part 2, Algebra I (E), Geometry, Algebra II, Financial Mathematics, Advanced Mathematics I, Calculus
Science- 3 units*
Biology and two of the following: Physical Science, Chemistry I, Physics I, Biology II, or Environmental Science.
Social Studies- 3 units
American History, one-half unit of Civics, one-half unit of Free Enterprise and one unit of World Geography or one unit of World History.
Health Education- ½ unit
Physical Education- 1½ units
Must be three different semesters of Physical Education I and/or Physical Education II.
Note: The substitution of ROTC I & II is permissible.
Elective- 8 units
Total- 23 units
*New Admission requirements to attend a four-year Louisiana University:
A fourth upper level math or science course. If you are unsure if you have met this requirement, please contact your Guidance Department.
